Job summary

ALTON INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. in Malaysia seeks a Tooling Development Lead to steer the design and development of plastic injection molds, metal stamping dies, and die-casting tooling.

You will oversee quality, organize tooling records, and collaborate with R&D, Project, and Quality teams to resolve complex tooling issues. The role requires a diploma or bachelor’s degree in tooling-related fields and at least 3 years of experience in plastic mold development, with proficiency in AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in tooling-related field.
• Minimum 3 years of plastic mold development experience.
• Knowledge of plastic injection mold structures and molding processes.
• Basic knowledge of metal stamping and die-casting molds.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and UG/NX or similar tooling design software.
• Strong project management and coordination skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese/Mandarin; Chinese writing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tooling development for new projects involving plastic injection molds, metal stamping dies, and die-casting molds.
• Manage the quality and final acceptance of tooling for new projects.
• Organize, maintain, and archive tooling-related documents and records.
• Manage and evaluate plastic mold, metal stamping, and die-casting tooling suppliers.
• Conduct tooling cost evaluation and analysis for new projects.
• Provide technical support and tooling-related solutions to R&D Engineers.
• Coordinate with R&D, Project, and Quality teams to resolve tooling and product-related issues.
• Work closely with tooling and injection molding suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
• Perform other tooling-related duties and projects assigned by management.

Job description

Manage and evaluate plastic mold, metal stamping, and die-casting tooling suppliers.

Conduct tooling cost evaluation and analysis for new projects.

Provide technical support and tooling-related solutions to R&D Engineers.

Coordinate with R&D, Project, and Quality teams to resolve tooling and product-related issues.

Work closely with tooling and injection molding suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.

Perform other tooling-related duties and projects assigned by management.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Tool & Die Design, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in plastic mold development.

Good knowledge of plastic injection mold structures and injection molding processes.

Basic knowledge of metal stamping and die-casting molds.

Proficient in AutoCAD and UG/NX or other relevant mold/tooling design software.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Good project management, communication, and coordination skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in tooling and product-related issues.

Good written and spoken Chinese/Mandarin and English reading and writing skills.

Valid driving licence is preferred/required.
