Job summary

Chiat Hin Envelope Manufacturer Sdn Bhd is seeking an Integrated Management System (IMS) Compliance & Safety Controller to maintain and improve ISO 9001, ISO 45001, SMETA/Sedex, FSC and PEFC across the site in Penang. You will coordinate audits, manage documentation, and drive safety and environmental performance with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s in related fields and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, strong audit capabilities, and English/Bahasa

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience coordinating internal, certification, customer or regulatory audits.
• Knowledge of SMETA/Sedex and FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody preferred.
• ISO Internal Auditor training required; Lead Auditor certification an advantage.
• DOSH-recognised OSH Coordinator qualification preferred.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer status an added advantage.
• Solid knowledge of Malaysian safety, environmental and employment legislation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital document-control systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IMS policies, procedures, work instructions, records and document controls.
• Coordinate internal audits, certification audits, customer audits, SMETA audits and regulatory inspections.
• Record audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed and verified.
• Organise management review meetings and report compliance performance to management.
• Monitor quality issues, customer complaints, system nonconformities and improvement actions.
• Manage environmental aspects such as waste, chemicals, emissions, energy and water consumption.
• Conduct factory safety inspections, HIRARC reviews, emergency drills and incident investigations.
• Coordinate the Safety and Health Committee, employee safety training and contractor safety.
• Maintain SMETA compliance relating to labour standards, health and safety, environment and business ethics.
• Control FSC and PEFC material traceability, supplier certificates, certified claims, product labelling and volume reconciliation.
• Maintain statutory licences, inspection records and compliance registers.
• Liaise with certification bodies, auditors, DOSH/JKKP, BOMBA and relevant authorities.
• Promote continuous improvement in quality, safety, environmental and ethical performance.

Integrated Management System (IMS), Compliance & Safety Controller

Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving Chiat Hin’s integrated management and compliance systems covering:

ISO 9001 Quality Management

ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety

SMETA/Sedex ethical and social compliance

FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody

Factory safety and Malaysian regulatory compliance

Internal, certification, customer and regulatory audits

Key Responsibilities :-

Qualifications Required :-

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.

Minimum three to five years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Good working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Experience coordinating internal, certification, customer or regulatory audits.

Knowledge of SMETA/Sedex and FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody is preferred.

ISO Internal Auditor training is required; Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.

DOSH-recognised OSH Coordinator qualification is strongly preferred.

Registered Safety and Health Officer status is an added advantage.

Knowledge of Malaysian safety, environmental and employment legislation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital document-control systems.

ERP or MES experience is an advantage.

Able to interpret ISO standards and legal requirements.

Good root-cause analysis and corrective-action skills.

Strong communication and cross-departmental coordination.

Systematic, independent, firm and detail-oriented.

Able to manage multiple audits, deadlines and certification requirements.

Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
