Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in a quality assurance/quality control role within manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001/ISO 14001)
• Proficiency with quality control equipment and inspection tools
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to read drawings and understand specifications
• Knowledge of SPC and quality metrics
• Proficient in MS Office
• Good communication and team collaboration
• Experience in packaging/manufacturing industry preferred

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance professional to join MASTER-PACK SDN BHD in Nibong Tebal, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our manufacturing operations. As a Quality Assurance specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our rigorous quality specifications and comply with industry regulations. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering excellence and protecting our reputation in the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

Conducting regular inspections and testing of products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards

Developing, implementing and maintaining quality control procedures and documentation systems

Identifying defects and non-conformities, and working with production teams to implement corrective actions

Performing statistical analysis and trend analysis on quality data to identify areas for improvement

Conducting audits of manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities to ensure adherence to established protocols

Preparing detailed quality reports and maintaining comprehensive quality records

Collaborating with cross-functional teams including production, design and management to resolve quality issues

Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and customer requirements

Training and mentoring quality control chekers on quality procedures and best practices

Recommending process improvements and participating in continuous improvement initiatives

What we’re looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

Proven experience working in a quality assurance or quality control role within a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies and standards (such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or similar)

Proficiency in using quality control equipment and inspection tools

Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and quality documentation

Solid understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality metrics

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications software

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions

Reliability and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency

Preferred: Experience in the packaging or manufacturing industry or knowledge of relevant compliance requirements
