Job summary

ESCATEC Electronics Sdn Bhd in Penang (Bayan Lepas) is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Section Head to lead all ISO 14001 implementation across plants and drive EHS compliance and improvements.

The role requires a certified SHO or equivalent, a Diploma or CePSWaM, and at least 5 years in manufacturing EHS. Strong bilingual communication in Bahasa and English is essential. You will oversee training, incident investigations, environmental monitoring, and data reporting to authorities.

Qualifications

• SHO certification preferred; minimum Diploma qualification.
• DOE Registered Competent Person – CePSWaM is preferred.
• Familiar with all EHS related regulations requirements
• Familiar with ISO 14001 standard.
• At least 5 years’ similar working experience in manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure successful implementation of ISO 14001 for all plants.
• Lead the EHS team in meeting Compliance Evaluation of Legal & Other Requirements as required.
• Conduct EHS Committee Meetings.
• Ensure all EHS-related SOPs are up-to-date and effectively implemented.
• Promote EHS awareness among employees.
• Manage Safety & Health Program
• Plan Safety & Health monitoring program (CHRA, hearing conservation, etc) and ensure monitoring is on time, including machinery inspections.
• Lead EHS team to evaluate the effectiveness of all Safety & Health monitoring programs, including required improvement and compliances.
• Ensure EHS inspections for all plants as scheduled.
• Ensure incident / accident investigations (Accident, First Aid Case, Near Miss) are carried out and actions completed on-time.
• Lead EHS team in obtaining Environmental Management Program data (EMP).
• Plan environmental monitoring program (air emission, boundary noise monitoring, analysis of effluent discharge at CDA and Cooling tower, etc) and ensure monitoring is conducted on time, as well as submission to DOE.
• Ensure scheduled wastes generated are managed and handled accordance to Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005 requirements.
• Emergency Preparedness Plan
• Ensure Fire/ Chemical Spillage Drill for all plants conducted as required.
• Ensure monthly ERT Training and monitor ERT emergency equipment inspection is conducted
• Training & Development
• Coordinate and conduct EHS-related training, including and others deem relevant.
• Address and manage training needs for subordinates.
• EHS Data Reporting
• Ensure all submission to authority is on-time (example JKKP 8 to DOSH, etc)
• Compile and furnish EHS data as required.
• Prepare and maintain all required EHS documentation and records.
• General
• Lead the team in the compliance of EHS per local authority requirement and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct internal audit / inspection per ISO 140001 and regulatory requirements.
• Follow up and review effectiveness of Corrective Actions (CA).
• Lead EHS team in Kaizen improvement and towards Zero Accident.
