Faeth Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an EHS Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain our environmental, health and safety management systems in line with ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015.

The EHS Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems to ensure full compliance with ISO45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, Malaysian statutory requirements, and customer safety standards.
The role supports both factory operations and project sites (local and overseas), ensuring a safe working environment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s EHS management system in accordance with ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015.
Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Environmental Quality Act (EQA), and all relevant Malaysian statutory regulations.
Maintain and control all EHS-related documentation including manuals, SOPs, work instructions, risk assessments, and statutory records.
Monitor regulatory updates from DOSH, NIOSH, DOE, and other authorities, and ensure timely implementation of new legal requirements.
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities including:
Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)
National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
Department of Environment (DOE)
Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia
Coordinate factory inspections, machinery inspections, environmental compliance checks, and fire safety audits.
Support ISO internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Conduct regular plant inspections, safety walkabouts, and hazard identification exercises.
Lead risk assessments (HIRARC), environmental impact assessments, and control measure implementation.
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare statutory accident reports when required and present findings to management and EHS Committee.
Develop and maintain emergency response and contingency plans for workplace incidents.
Conduct safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
Deliver regular toolbox briefings, safety workshops, and awareness programs for production and project site personnel.
Coach and support Project Managers and Production Managers in achieving EHS objectives.
Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure adherence to company safety policies and customer safety standards.
Ensure all project activities (local and overseas) comply with company, statutory, and customer EHS requirements.
Work closely with customer safety officers and supervise subcontractors to ensure compliance with site safety procedures.
Prepare site safety documentation, method statements, permits-to-work, and safety meeting records as required by customers.
Oversee factory facilities including fire protection systems, security infrastructure, power rooms, cleanroom protocols, and production facilities.
Develop preventive maintenance plans and inspection checklists for facilities and safety equipment.
Coordinate with Purchasing for PPE, safety equipment, maintenance services, and vendor quotations.
Participate in end-user training for new equipment and maintain technical records, manuals, and maintenance schedules.
Prepare monthly EHS performance reports and KPIs for management review.
Identify improvement opportunities to enhance workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and operational efficiency.
To conduct EHS Committee meetings and maintain proper documentation and meeting minutes.
Candidates must possess at least Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Safety Related Field, with minimum 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing and/or project site environment, preferably in manufacturing or construction environment with ISO45001 experience.
Preferably with NIOSH Safety Officer Certificate or DOSH Certified Safety Officer is an added advantage
Strong knowledge of ISO45001 and ISO14001 management systems, familiar with OSHA, EQA, and Malaysian statutory requirements, experience in HIRARC, incident investigation, and emergency response planning
Good understanding of industrial safety, machinery safety, and environmental controls
Able to work independently and under fast moving environment.
Computer literate & Proficiency in Microsoft office and good at oral and written communication skills for reporting requirements.
Good interpersonal & communication skills to effectively interact with people at all level and to work cross functionally.
A team player who is discipline, independent, self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia.
Candidate must be willing to work in Prai, factory-based role with regular site inspections
Readiness and willingness to travel oversea.
