Job summary

Etiqa Insurance and Takaful is seeking a proactive Business Development professional in Sabah, Malaysia. The role focuses on driving branch targets by building strong relationships with agents, brokers, and corporate clients, and identifying new business opportunities to expand the agency network.

The candidate will oversee agency development, monitor performance, and ensure profitability, while maintaining compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in Business Development and Sales within the Insurance industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and partners.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to monitor performance and profitability.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive achievement of individual and branch business targets through intermediary relationships.
• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts via market engagement.
• Lead agency development by recruiting productive agents and monitoring performance.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee credit control to ensure timely premium collection and reporting.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and other teams to service customers efficiently.
