Mahnaz Retail is looking for a dynamic, resilient, and highly motivated HR Assistant to manage our retail workforce across 30 multi-site outlets. This is a high-growth development role designed for an ambitious professional who is eager to learn, be mentored, and be groomed into a future HR leader. The ideal candidate will have exposure to foreign worker management and possess the strategic problem-solving skills needed to coordinate staffing levels dynamically, ensuring our retail stores are never short-handed.
Key responsibilities
Continuously monitor manpower levels across all 30 retail outlets. Proactively deploy backup staff, coordinate cross-outlet transfers, or implement contingency staffing plans immediately when outlets face manning shortages.
Oversee the end-to-end management of foreign workers, including work permit renewals, FOMEMA checkups, accommodation (hostel) management, and government regulatory compliance.
Act as the first point of contact for retail floor staff. Handle employee grievances, disciplinary processes, and maintain strong workforce morale across branches.
Manage fast-paced mass recruitment for frontline Retail Associates, ensuring a steady pipeline of talent to match outlet attrition rates.
Coordinate with outsourcing agencies, external recruitment partners, and government bodies (e.g., JTK, JIM) to maintain complete legal compliance.
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of HR experience, preferably within the retail, F&B, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.
High learning agility, resilient under pressure, and a strong desire to be groomed and upskilled for higher leadership.
Ready to manage emergency scheduling shifts outside standard office hours. Must possess own transport and be willing to travel to outlets when needed.
Excellent command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.
