Job summary

Ocean Vantage Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to oversee HSSE compliance during operations and projects in Malaysia.

The role requires coordinating safety across concurrent work fronts, conducting inspections, audits and toolbox briefings, and ensuring adherence to PTW and JSA procedures. The ideal candidate will have a NIOSH Yellow Book certification, at least 2 years of SSS experience, and strong communication and regulatory knowledge to promote a proactive

Qualifications

• Must hold NIOSH Yellow Book certification.

• Strong knowledge of PTW, JSA, toolbox meetings and safety inspections.

HSSE Statutory Compliance (Site Safety Supervisor)

We are looking for an experienced and safety-focused Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to oversee HSSE compliance during operations and project activities. The role is responsible for conducting safety inspections, audits, toolbox briefings, and monitoring compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate safety activities across multiple concurrent work fronts and ensure that all site activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company HSSE standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure site HSSE compliance during daily operations, maintenance, and project activities.

Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and workplace observations.

Conduct and facilitate toolbox briefings and safety awareness activities.

Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and approved work procedures.

Review and monitor Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk control measures for site activities.

Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and potential risks, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Coordinate safety requirements for multiple concurrent activities and work teams.

Follow up on safety observations, non-conformities, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

Maintain proper records of safety inspections, audits, toolbox meetings, observations, and incidents.

Support incident and near-miss reporting, investigation, and follow-up activities when required.

Liaise with Operations, Project, Maintenance, contractors, and other relevant personnel on HSSE matters.

Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements, Company procedures, and HSSE standards.

Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in site HSSE performance.

Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Possess NIOSH Yellow Book certification/qualification.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS).

Good knowledge of site safety practices, hazard identification, and risk control.

Good understanding of PTW, JSA, toolbox meetings, and safety inspection requirements.

Familiarity with applicable Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation and regulatory requirements.

Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Able to manage and coordinate safety requirements across multiple concurrent activities.

Strong observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Proactive, responsible, and committed to maintaining high HSSE standards.

Willing to work at operational and project sites as required.
