Job summary

Mason & Co in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia is seeking a Procurement & Logistics professional to lead strategic procurement and logistics functions globally, focusing on cost control, efficiency, and supplier management.

Mandarin proficiency is required for dealing with suppliers in China; you will drive centralized procurement strategies and collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Engineering to enhance profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Studies, Economics, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing or multinational.
• Strong strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation and cost reduction.
• Experience in centralized procurement and driving cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and logistics activities to achieve cost savings.
• Manage procurement across units and control spending.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs via supplier negotiation and consolidation.
• Source and develop new suppliers for reliable networks.
• Identify supplier risks and explore alternative sources.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Eng to support profitability.
• Track performance, savings, and supplier metrics for management updates.

About the Job

Looking for a Procurement & Logistics professional who lead the strategic procurement & logistics function (global sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization and margin improvement). This role is playing an important role to drive centralized procurement strategies to strengthen cost control, visibility, and operational efficiency across the business.

Mandarin proficiency is required for business communication and managing suppliers in China.

Working location: Nilai – Negeri Sembilan

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and logistics activities to ensure smooth operations and achieve cost savings.
• Manage procurement processes across different business units and ensure proper control of spending.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs through supplier negotiation, sourcing, and supplier consolidation.
• Source, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to maintain a reliable supplier network.
• Identify supplier risks and alternative sources to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams to support business needs and improve profitability.
• Track procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier performance, and provide regular updates to management.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Studies, Economics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or multinational company.
• Hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, and cost reduction at a regional or global level.
• Experience in managing centralized procurement activities and driving cost efficiency and business profitability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel. Knowledge of procurement or ERP systems will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication, negotiation, project management, and presentation abilities.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin speaking and writing skills are an added advantage when dealing with suppliers in China.
• Willing to travel and provide support to overseas operations when required.
