Our client is seeking a Procurement Executive to join their team!
This is a great opportunity for an organised and driven procurement professional to take ownership of end-to-end sourcing and purchasing processes, while working closely with vendors across China and building strong cross-border supplier relationships. The role offers exposure to a full spectrum of procurement functions, from negotiation to vendor performance management, within a company that values quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing?
- Sourcing and negotiating: Take charge of sourcing, negotiating, comparing, and analysing materials and services, ensuring vendor quotations align with technical specifications and commercial terms.
- Managing daily procurement operations: Oversee day-to-day procurement processes including planning, issuing, and following up on purchase orders, delivery, and shipment schedules.
- Evaluating vendor performance: Assess vendor performance against quality standards, delivery timelines, and pricing to help build a strong and reliable supplier network.
- Maintaining compliance and documentation: Ensure all procurement processes and documents are well maintained and in line with company policies.
- Supporting ad-hoc initiatives: Contribute to other duties and projects as assigned, offering opportunities to broaden experience across the business.
- Upholding quality and safety standards: Adhere to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 requirements, applying best practices in procurement.
- Championing health, safety, and environment (HSE): Take ownership of the effectiveness of the HSE management system, contributing to a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.
Who are they looking for?
- Educational background: A Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply.
- Language proficiency: Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin is required, as the role involves regular liaison with vendors based in China; additional languages are considered a valuable bonus.
- Ownership and accountability: A strong sense of responsibility and pride in performance, with genuine care for the impact of the role on the company's success.
- Self-motivation and organisation: Being well-organised, independent, and results-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel: Occasional travel to Bintulu is required as part of the role.
