Job summary

Zohorecruit in Malaysia seeks an experienced HR Head to own the people function, ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and defensible pay decisions. The role combines leadership with practical involvement in payroll and policy details for a company of 50–200 employees.

As a working leadership position, you will review payroll, handle sensitive employee conversations, and guide pay bands and organisation design in collaboration with the MD.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on ownership of performance management and compensation & benefits.
• Experience running payroll and ensuring payroll compliance.
• Strong understanding of Malaysian employment law and HR policies.

Responsibilities

• Own performance management cycle from goal setting to end-year ratings and differentiation.
• Lead a small HR team (2–3) and manage payroll coordination, onboarding/offboarding, and records.
• Own annual headcount planning and oversee recruitment for the business.
• Advise the MD on promotions, restructures, and pay decisions with rationale.
• Ensure policies and employee handbook comply with local law and company standards.
