Job summary

Alpha Apex Consulting PLT in Sabah is seeking a Head of Human Resources to lead the Group's HR function, shaping strategy, governance and people practices across the business.

You will oversee recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, payroll and HR operations, and develop policies for a large workforce across multiple outlets, working with senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR management, business admin, industrial relations, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of HR experience, including senior HR management.
• Experience with large workforce or multi-outlet organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and industrial relations.
• Proven ability to develop and implement HR policies, procedures and systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Job description

The Head of Human Resources will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Group's HR function, covering HR strategy, talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR operations, compliance and organisational development. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to strengthen HR governance, improve people management practices and develop a professional and effective HR function across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Group's HR strategy in alignment with business objectives
• Lead recruitment strategies for corporate, retail and operational positions
• Develop and implement a structured performance management framework
• Oversee the Group's salary, benefits and incentive structures
• Oversee employee relations and disciplinary matters
• Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements
• Oversee HR operations including recruitment, payroll, attendance, leave and employee administration
• Lead and develop a professional HR team
• Establish and enhance Group-wide HR policies, procedures and frameworks
• Prepare HR reports, workforce analysis and management information for senior management

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
• At least 10 years of relevant HR experience, including significant experience in a senior HR management role
• Experience managing HR functions for a large workforce or multi-outlet organisation is highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and industrial relations
• Strong understanding of recruitment, payroll, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and employee relations
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and systems
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand business requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR information systems
• Able to work independently and engage effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
