Job summary

Mega Confectionery is seeking a Halal Compliance professional to coordinate Halal applications, ensure compliance with Halal standards, and support QA and regulatory audits.

The role involves maintaining Halal documentation, liaising with authorities, and driving training across the organisation. Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are welcome, with opportunities for growth in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Halal Management or related field required.
• 1–2 years Halal administration, QA, or regulatory experience preferred.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are welcome.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Halal certification requirements is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Halal applications, renewals, additions and amendments for company and OEM/ODM products.
• Maintain the Halal certification master list and monitor all submission and expiry dates.
• Prepare and maintain Halal documents, including ingredient lists, product formulations, process flows and supporting certificates.
• Verify the Halal status of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, suppliers and production processes.
• Follow up with customers and suppliers to obtain complete and valid Halal documents.
• Liaise with JAKIM/JAIN, certification bodies, customers and relevant authorities on Halal matters.
• Support the Internal Halal Committee and prepare meeting records, reports and follow-up actions.
• Conduct internal Halal audits and monitor corrective actions.
• Assist with Halal inspections, surveillance audits and certification-body audits.
• Monitor compliance with the Malaysian Halal Management System and other applicable Halal requirements.
• Coordinate Halal awareness and competency training for employees.
• Assist with QA activities, including GMP and hygiene inspections, documentation, record maintenance and other related duties.
• Support ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, customer and regulatory audits.
• Assist in managing licences, permits, registrations and other government compliance matters.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior or management from time to time.

Requirements

• Diploma in Halal Management, Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management or a relatedfield
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in Halal administration, quality assurance, food safety or regulatory compliance, preferably in food manufacturing
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications and a strong willingness to learn may also be considered
• Knowledge of Malaysian Halal certification requirements and Halal management systems
• Halal Executive or other recognised Halal-related training or certification is an added advantage
• Good organisational, documentation and record-keeping skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure
