Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior QA cum Halal Executive to lead Halal certification and QA/QC operations. You will oversee QC staff, ensure Halal, ISO 9001:2015, GMP, HACCP and MESTI compliance, and drive continuous improvement across quality systems.

You will coordinate audits, manage calibration and pest control programs, and mentor team members while liaising with authorities and suppliers to uphold strict standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Halal Management, Food Science, Quality Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of Halal and QA/QC experience.
• Hands-on Halal certification submissions and ISO 9001:2015, GMP, HACCP, MESTI awareness.
• Proven leadership of QC staff and audits, with strong documentation discipline.
• Good communication, problem solving and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage Halal certification matters including new applications, renewals and amendments.
• Prepare and maintain Halal documentation to ensure continuous compliance.
• Lead QC Department and operators, assign duties and monitor performance.
• Monitor QC performance, inspections, sampling and quality control procedures.
• Develop, implement and monitor QA/QC procedures and standards.
• Conduct incoming, in-process and finished product inspections for quality.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior QA cum Halal Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Halal certification, overseeing QA/QC operations, leading QC staff and ensuring compliance with Halal, ISO 9001:2015, GMP, HACCP and MESTI requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all Halal certification matters, including new applications, renewals, amendments, documentation and communication with relevant authorities.

Prepare, maintain and update Halal documentation and records to ensure continuous compliance.

Lead and supervise the QC Department and QC Operators, including assigning duties, monitoring daily activities, checking work performance and ensuring QC procedures are followed.

Monitor QC operators' performance and compliance with inspection, sampling, testing and quality control procedures.

Develop, implement and monitor QA/QC procedures, work instructions and quality standards.

Conduct incoming material, in-process and finished product inspections and ensure products meet the required quality specifications.

Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, Halal and quality requirements.

Manage and monitor the calibration of measuring and testing equipment, ensuring calibration is carried out according to the required schedule and records are properly maintained.

Coordinate and monitor the pest control programme, including service schedules, inspection records, corrective actions and follow up with pest control contractors.

Investigate customer complaints, product defects, non-conformities and quality issues, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Coordinate and participate in Halal, ISO 9001:2015, GMP, HACCP and MESTI audits, including audit preparation, documentation and closure of findings.

Assist in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 9001:2015, GMP, HACCP and MESTI management systems.

Ensure QA/QC, calibration, pest control, inspection and monitoring records are properly maintained and updated.

Conduct quality, food safety, GMP and Halal awareness training for employees.

Liaise with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, suppliers, customers and external service providers on quality, Halal and compliance matters.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality, food safety and QC processes.

Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Halal Management, Food Science, Quality Management or a related field.

3-5 years of relevant working experience in Halal and QA/QC.

Hands-on experience in Halal certification and submissions is required.

Hands-on experience in ISO 9001:2015, GMP, HACCP and MESTI management systems.

Proven experience in managing and leading QC staff/operators.

Experience in handling internal and external certification audits and regulatory inspections.

Experience in equipment calibration, pest control monitoring and quality inspection activities.

Good understanding of Malaysian Halal, food safety and regulatory requirements.

Strong leadership, analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

ISO 9001:2015 / HACCP Internal Auditor certification will be an added advantage.
