Job summary

North West Enterprise in Malaysia seeks a QA/QC Manager to oversee Halal certification matters, manage new applications, renewals, amendments, and audits across our production facilities. You will ensure Halal compliance and maintain relevant records.

You will lead ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and MESTI implementations, coordinate audits, drive CAPA activities, train staff, and maintain documentation to ensure food safety and quality standards are upheld.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Halal Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in Halal certification and QA/QC, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on experience in Halal submissions, documentation, and audit coordination.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, and MESTI requirements and implementation.
• Familiar with Malaysian food safety regulations and Halal standards.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience handling certification audits and regulatory inspections.
• Internal Auditor certification for ISO 9001 or HACCP will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of GMP and other food safety management systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and update all Halal documentation and records to ensure compliance with Halal certification requirements.
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external Halal audits, ensuring timely closure of any non-conformities.
• Oversee the daily operations of the QA/QC Department to ensure product quality and food safety standards are consistently maintained.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
• Conduct product inspections, process monitoring, and quality verification activities.
• Investigate customer complaints, non-conformities, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, and MESTI management systems.
• Prepare documentation and coordinate internal and external audits for ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, and MESTI certification.
• Conduct internal quality and food safety training for employees.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, suppliers, and customers on quality and compliance matters.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
