We are seeking an experienced shipping professional to join our office as a Finance Manager/ Assistant Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through effective financial management and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure effective resource allocation and financial stability.

Drive financial analysis, risk assessment, and performance monitoring to support strategic decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Oversee the full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.

Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.

Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial and consolidated reports to management and stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including corporate tax regulations, filings, and internal policies.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial policies, internal controls, and accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and treasury functions to maintain optimal liquidity.

Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes to ensure smooth and timely completion.

Support strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and major contract negotiations.

Lead, supervise, and mentor the finance team, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance.

Drive continuous process improvements and undertake ad-hoc finance-related projects as required.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA).

Minimum 8–10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in the shipping or logistics industry, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Proven expertise in financial modelling, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends for strategic decision-making.

Solid understanding of risk management and corporate governance practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

Proficient in English (both written and spoken).

Strong computer literacy, including MS Office and relevant financial or shipping systems.

Highly organised with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and perform effectively under pressure.
