Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations in Malaysia, ensuring statutory compliance and effective cash flow management.

You will lead a dynamic finance team, optimize ERP and freight systems (CargoWise, AutoCount, SQL, Xero), and drive budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition for freight activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or MIA) preferred.
• 8–10 years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Prior experience in logistics/freight forwarding finance advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, billing, and reconciliations.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Manage freight-specific revenue recognition, including accruals and WIP.
• Lead budgeting, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Oversee cash flow and credit control to maintain liquidity.
• Ensure SST, tax filings and audits compliance.
• Optimize ERP and freight systems for efficiency.
• Lead and develop the finance team.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations and ensure compliance with statutory and industry requirements. This role requires strong accounting expertise, hands-on logistics finance knowledge, and proven leadership skills to manage a dynamic finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Set of Accounts: Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), billing, and reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely reports including profit & loss (P&L), balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Revenue Recognition: Oversee freight-specific revenue recognition processes, including accruals, work-in-progress (WIP), and unbilled revenue.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and conduct variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Cash Flow & Credit Control: Manage working capital, customer credit limits, and collections to maintain healthy liquidity.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory requirements including SST, tax filings, and audits.
• Systems Optimization: Optimize ERP and freight systems such as CargoWise, AutoCount, SQL, and Xero for efficiency and accuracy.
• Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
