Job summary

Traders Hotel by Shangri-La in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance Executive – General Accounting to maintain accurate records, support month-end closing, and prepare financial and tax reports in compliance with our policies.

You will reconcile accounts, manage fixed assets, and assist with cash handling, while adapting to additional duties as needed in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, Hotel Management, Finance, or Accounting.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; proficiency in other languages is an added advantage.
• Demonstrates self-management and upholds core values in the workplace.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled in operating standard office equipment.
• A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Due to work permit restrictions, only Malaysian citizens and Permanent Residents will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Post accounting transactions accurately and ensure entries are recorded in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in maintaining accurate financial records.
• Support the monthly closing process, including the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports within stipulated timelines.
• Compile, review, and reconcile monthly tax-related reports to ensure timely submission to the relevant tax authorities.
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring asset records are accurate and properly documented.
• Perform cashiering duties whenever required and ensure proper handling of cash transactions.

Job Summary: The Finance Executive – General Accounting is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end closing activities, preparing financial and tax reports, and ensuring proper account reconciliations and fixed asset management in compliance with company policies and regulations.
