Job summary

Shangri-La Hotels (Malaysia) Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance Executive – General Accounting to maintain accurate financial records, support month-end closing, and ensure proper asset management in line with company policies.

You will handle GL reconciliations, tax reporting, cashiering duties and contribute to timely financial statements, with a focus on English communication and teamwork within the Finance department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; proficiency in other languages is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
• A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Malaysian citizens or Permanent Residents due to work permit restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Post accounting transactions accurately and ensure all entries are recorded in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
• Support the monthly closing process, including the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports within stipulated timelines.
• Compile, review, and reconcile monthly tax-related reports to ensure timely submission to the relevant tax authorities.
• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all asset records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
• Perform cashiering duties whenever required and ensure proper handling of cash transactions.
• Be adaptable and willing to take on additional duties as needed to support the team on an ad hoc basis.
