About the role
We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our accounting team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays an important role in supporting the financial operations of Lead Holding Sdn Bhd. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing essential administrative and clerical support to the finance department, ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of our accounting function. What you'll be doing
Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense claims
Maintaining and updating accounting records and databases to ensure accuracy and compliance
Preparing financial documents and reports under the supervision of senior accounting staff
Assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies
Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Filing and organising financial documents in accordance with company procedures
Performing general administrative duties including data entry, correspondence, and scheduling
Assisting with payroll administration and related tasks
Liaising with internal departments and external parties regarding financial matters
What we're looking for
SPM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
Strong numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational and time management abilities
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
Reliability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and regulations is preferred
Proficiency in spoken mandarin chinese, with strong listening comprehension is required
