Job summary

Safeguards Secure Solution Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled field service engineer to perform corrective and preventive maintenance on customer machines, install and commission new equipment, and provide on-site or remote technical support. You will report on service activities, minimize downtime, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electronics, mechatronics, computer engineering or IT-related field.
• 2 to 10 years of technical field experience (IT, mechatronics or self-service banking terminals maintenance).
• Excellent spoken and written English with initiative.
• Team-oriented with ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective maintenance on machines for customers and preventive maintenance on schedule.
• Service and recondition faulty equipment after repair; test, install and commission at customer sites.
• Provide timely reports to customers after service calls; track and close uncompleted calls.
• Minimize machine downtime; escalate unresolved calls to Command Center for guidance.
• Provide professional service to customers and assist fellow engineers when required; maintain cordial relationships.
• Update Call Desk after completing a service call and ensure spare parts are returned promptly.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting and offer on-site or remote technical support.
• Support customer initiatives and company projects as required.

Job description

• Perform corrective maintenance on machines belonging to customers; Perform preventive maintenance on schedule.
• Perform service and recondition faulty equipment after repair; Perform pre-installation test, installation and commissioning of machines at customers’ sites.
• Provide timely and proper reports to customers after completion of a service call; Execute tasks assigned within response time; Check, track and monitor unclosed calls till completion.
• Ensure machine downtime is kept to minimum; Escalate unresolved service calls timely to Command Center for guidance, assistance, and help to solve the service calls.
• Provide professional and excellent service to customers and at times to other fellow engineers when required; Maintain cordial relationships with customers, peers and fellow staff.
• Facilitate Call Desk with a complete update after completing a service call in a timely manner; Ensure spare parts requested are returned promptly within the specified timeframe given.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting, software/application reload.
• Provide technical support at site or via online communication tools.
• Support initiatives/projects from the customers and company’s Management whenever required.

Working Relationships

Internal: Call Center, SBM Repair Centre, SBM Spare-part Store, BDU, and Field Operations

External: Clients (Retailers and Bankers), Vendors, Suppliers, Riggers

Formal Education

Possess at least a Bachelor in Electronics Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or in any field related to the above role.

At least 2 to 10 year(s) of working experience in the technical fields (IT, mechatronics or self-service banking terminals maintenance).
