Job summary

AGENSI PEKERJAAN TRUST RECRUIT SDN. BHD. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support industrial and automation equipment in Penang, Malaysia.

You will install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain systems and provide on-site, remote, or emergency support. Travel across Southeast Asia for training and client visits will be required. Applicants should hold a Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering with 3–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years field service, technical support or maintenance experience.
• Good command of English; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, automation systems; C++/Java is a plus.
• Hands-on automation project experience; travel to SE Asia required.

Job description

Provide technical support for the company’s industrial and automation equipment, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, and user training.

Prepare service quotations and follow up with customers in a timely and professional manner.

Generate accurate and detailed service reports after each service activity.

Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Support and manage automation-related projects from implementation through completion.

Perform application testing and technical support using the company’s products and systems.

Maintain proper documentation for project pipelines, installed equipment, service cases, and maintenance contracts.

Provide on-site, remote, or emergency support when required.

Carry out other duties assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements & Qualifications

Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or related fields.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in field service, technical support, maintenance, or industrial equipment servicing.

Good command of English, both written and spoken.

M@ndarin speaking ability is an added advantage to support M@ndarin-speaking customers.

Experience or knowledge in PLC, SCADA, automation systems, C++, or Java will be an advantage.

Hands-on experience in automation projects is preferred.

Experience in troubleshooting laser-related equipment such as laser cutting or laser welding machines is highly preferred.

Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Strong problem-solving, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Willing to travel within Southeast Asia when required (for training & client visitation)
