Job summary

Tap Growth ai is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician based in Malaysia to serve as the technical contact for customer support, on-site commissioning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across key industries.

Responsibilities include leading site commissioning, diagnosing issues, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring reports adhere to EHS guidelines. A Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related trade certification is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a relevant technical trade certification.
• Hands-on experience servicing hydraulic gearboxes, electrical motors, and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Familiarity with PLCs and VFDs is preferred, with experience in construction, steel, mining, or port/automotive equipment advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site commissioning and installation supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for electro‑mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with clients and vendors for remote and on-site support.
• Prepare accurate service and expense reports while adhering to EHS guidelines.

Our client, an established global provider of industrial engineering solutions, is seeking a hands‑on Field Service Technician. Based in Malaysia, this role serves as the primary technical point of contact for customer support, on‑site commissioning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across key industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical On-Site Operations:

Lead site commissioning, installation supervision, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for specialized electro‑mechanical systems .

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:

Diagnose operating errors, identify root causes, and implement efficient technical solutions to maintain high equipment reliability and customer satisfaction .

Vendor & Customer Coordination:

Serve as the direct liaison for client interactions, delivering both remote and on‑site support while coordinating activities with end-users and appointed vendors .

Reporting & Compliance:

Prepare accurate, timely service and expense reports following every assignment while strictly adhering to corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines .

Requirements:

Technical Expertise:

Hands‑on experience servicing hydraulic gearboxes, electrical motors, and electro‑mechanical systems, with the ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics .

Specialized Knowledge:

Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Yaskawa, Fuji) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems is preferred . Experience in Construction, Steel, Mining, or Port/Automotive equipment is highly advantageous .

Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical trade certification (Electrician/Mechanic) .
