Job summary

Jaya Grocer is expanding its F&B concept portfolio and launching new outlets, food halls, and ready-to-eat offerings in Malaysia. You will work closely with expansion, operations, and culinary teams to translate food ideas into scalable retail experiences.

The role requires a hands-on approach, a background in kitchen operations, and the ability to manage cross-functional projects from concept to launch, including budgeting and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in F&B operations, restaurant, café, or food production environment.
• Experience in kitchen operations/workflows or line cook/chef role is highly advantageous.
• Deep understanding of the F&B market, food preparation processes, consumer behavior, and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel frequently to different regional locations as required and work on-site during outlet launches.

Responsibilities

• F&B Concept Development: support development and rollout of new concepts including food halls, counters, and ready-to-eat offerings.
• Menu development, recipe standardisation, and feasibility assessments for scale.
• Oversee procurement of equipment, materials, and initial inventory for launches.
• Coordinate kitchen and outlet setup: layout planning, equipment selection, and workflow.
• Develop SOPs for kitchen operations and service flow; monitor performance for productivity and quality.
• Coordinate with suppliers for ingredients, equipment, and packaging; ensure cost targets and supply stability.
• Track project timelines, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration for new outlets.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and safety standards.
