Job summary

KPJ Sentosa KL Specialist Hospital seeks an experienced accounting professional to support taxation, cash management, and financial controls within a hospital environment. You will coordinate with auditors, banks, and tax agents while ensuring accuracy in general ledger entries and compliance with statutory requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor of Accounting with professional certification and at least 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare or corporate finance, emphasizing integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor level accounting degree required.
• Professional accounting certifications preferred (ACCA/CIMA/CPA).
• Strong English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and yearly tax computations and assist with TIP preparation.
• Manage cash, bank reconciliations and cash flow statements.
• Handle payable processes and supplier payments with accuracy.
• Support ISO compliance, quality projects and KPI implementations.
• Coordinate with auditors, bankers, tax agents and stakeholders.

Job description

Taxation

Perform monthly and yearly tax and deferred tax computation Assist the compilation of annual Taxation Information Package (TIP) for the appointed tax agent. Ensure the accuracy of general ledger (HITS2) to optimize tax savings.

Cash Management

Perform reconciliations for cash, cheque and bank with timely identification and resolutions of any discrepancies Perform bank-in register for cheque in-hand transactions Verify refund transaction in HITS by various payment mode namely by cash, card and cheque Check refund note for verified refund transaction Check MPOS transactions with its supporting documents Authorised personnel for opening safe box (passcode holder) Prepare monthly cash flow statement In-charge of REIT dividend receivable from Al-Aqar Healthcare REIT.

Material Management

Involve in the quarterly stock take activities for hospital as an auditor.

Account Payable

Check key-in listing and payment listing before submission to Centralised Payment Services (CPS), Finance Group.

Quality Improvement

Ensure successful implementation of all KPI’s, corporate initiatives and quality projects initiated by Management . To document, implement and regularly review the policies and procedures for the services in liaison with the Management. Liaison with external parties Effectively communicate and collaborate with auditor, banker, tax agent, valuer, authorities, suppliers and relevant stakeholders to address their inquiries, provide necessary information, and facilitate a smooth flow of business activities.

Occupational Safety and Health

To carry out other relevant duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act. 1994 and Regulations: To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons. To co‑operate with your employer or any other persons in the discharge of any duty. To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer. To comply with any instruction or measure or Measure on Occupational Safety and Health (OHS). All staffs are responsible and accountable to carry out duties as in the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Regulations. Involvement in determining actions to address risk associated with threats and opportunities for hospital eg HIRARC; Other OHS Risks & Other OHS Opportunities; EAI; Risk Register (Business Risk & Business Opportunities); Environmental Risk & Environmental Opportunities; the needs & expectations of interested parties, internal & external Issues.

ISO Compliance & Accreditations

Conformance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, MSQH Hospital Accreditation Standard and KPJ requirements. Ongoing updates and implementation of action plan if any. Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and MSQH Hospital Accreditation Standard are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented. Conformance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and MSQH Hospital Accreditation Standard. Prompt and effective action in taking correction and corrective measures in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and MSQH Hospital Accreditation non-conformity report (NCR) and or opportunity for improvement (OFI). Achievement of satisfactory performance on the external and internal audits.

5S / QE Activities

Participate in 5S / QE activities Responsible and accountable to carry out all 5S activities as per directed by the Management. Ensure adherence to The KPJ Way / Standard People Practice (SPP) To ensure compliance at all points of engagement with patients/ customers/ guests at all times. To participate and to support all activities pertain to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 including the commitment to comply with legal requirements. Compliance with related policies & procedures, instructions and legal requirements.

Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS)

Involvement in Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) exercise inclusive of training, awareness and documentation Every employee is responsible and accountable for adopting KPJ Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) within their work environment.

Business Continuity Management (BCM)

Involvement in Business Continuity Management (BCM) exercise inclusive of Business Impact Assessment (BIA) and or Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and or exercise (drill) and or other documentation. Every employee is responsible and accountable for adopting Business Continuity Management (BCM) within their work environment.

Other Duties

To perform any other duties as and when required / directed by the Accountant designated by the Company.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Minimum Bachelor of Accounting Preferred Professional Accounting Certification i.e ACCA/CIMA/CPA Australia, MBA or equivalent Knowledge and Experiences: Proficient in English, written and verbal communication Preferred proficient in Companies Act 2016 (CA 2016), Malaysian Accounting Standards, Income Tax Act 1967 (ITA 1967), Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1999 (PHFSA 1999) Preferred financial management experience within healthcare industry Minimum 5 years experiences Skills & Competencies: Special skills required Time management and organizational skills Effective time management skills are essential to prioritize tasks, manage multiple accounts, and meet deadlines. Problem-solving skills Account executives need problem-solving abilities to navigate unforeseen difficulties and offer solutions.
