Job summary

Hextar Mitai Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Engineer to support tender bids, supplier sourcing, and pivotal procurement activities in Malaysia. The role involves handling enquiries, preparing quotations, and coordinating logistics and specifications with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will engage with suppliers, ensure ISO 9001 compliance basics, and liaise with Mandarin-speaking contacts. A strong sense of responsibility and communication skills are essential for success in this EPCC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical) or related fields
• At least 5 years of working experience in procurement or related field
• Quantity Surveyor background is an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001
• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to speak and read/write Chinese is an added advantage
• Positive attitude, willing to learn, hardworking and resilient

Responsibilities

• Assist in customer enquiries handling and tender bid activities documentation
• Prepare MTO and obtain quotations for tender bids
• Assist in strategic procurement activities
• Support marketing activities by sourcing new potential suppliers and products
• Constantly follow up with vendors on purchased goods/services deliveries
• Assist in logistics and delivery arrangements
• Assist in sorting and compiling all essential information for specifications and job requirements
• Constantly update the Company project experience list
• Any other responsibilities assigned by Management

Job description

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical), or background/experience in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Structural

At least 5 years of working experience in the field

Quantity Surveyor (QS) background is an added advantage

Basic knowledge of ISO 9001

Strong sense of responsibility towards the work

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Able to speak and read/write Chinese is an added advantage (to liaise with Chinese-speaking clients/suppliers)

Positive attitude, willing to learn, hardworking and resilient
