Job summary

Ingersoll Rand plc in Shah Alam seeks a Sales Engineer to expand our regional coverage and drive profitable revenue. You will identify new clients, engage via calls and emails, and turn opportunities into contracts while delivering total solution insights.

The role requires an engineering background with hands-on product knowledge of air compressors and control systems, and strong communication to support customers from pre-sale through after-sales stages.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering background with sales experience in industrial products.
• Self-motivated, customer oriented and capable of independent work.
• Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and source new clients and business prospects.
• Perform outreach to cold leads via calls and emails.
• Achieve sales targets for the area of responsibility.
• Negotiate tender terms and prepare sales contracts.
• Visit prospective customers to provide services and solicit orders.
• Prepare sales reports, analyze costs and quotations, maintain client accounts.
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance, product training and after-sales support.
• Prepare demonstrations and technical presentations for customers.
• Attend trade shows and events; collaborate with supply chain and project teams.
• Maintain close relationships with customers in assigned industries.

The successful incumbent will be based in Shah Alam and is accountable to generate profitable sales revenue and increase operating income by broadening sales coverage, establishing new accounts, and providing total solutions to customers in Central Malaysia region.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and source new clients and business prospects.
• Perform outreach to cold leads via calls and emails.
• Achieve sales target set for area of responsibilities.
• Negotiate tender, contract terms and condition and prepare Sales contract.
• Visit and meet prospective customers in assigned industries to provide required services and solicit for orders.
• Prepare sales report, analyzing cost and sales, quotations and maintaining and creating new client accounts.
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance, product training and after-sales support.
• Prepare demonstration and technical presentations to customer.
• Attending trade shows, conferences, marketing, and other events.
• Work closely with supply chain management, sales support and project engineer and order fulfillment team.
• Maintain close relationship with the customers in assigned industries.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with sales experience selling industrial products.
• Product knowledge of air compressor & control system will be advantageous.
• Self-motivated and customer oriented.
• Work independently, process good communication and strong presentation skills.
• Ability to handle customers needs.
