Job summary

Ingersoll Rand plc is seeking a tender engineering specialist to prepare and support power generation project bids. You will analyse opportunities, assemble technical submissions, and coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain and Project Management to ensure competitive, compliant offers.

Qualifications

• This role requires preparation of engineering tender responses and technical submissions for power generation projects.
• Support Business Development Managers with engineering services and supply chain input for bids.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Sales, Supply Chain and Manufacturing for timely bid submissions.

Responsibilities

• Lead tender analysis, feasibility studies and compilation of commercial offers.
• Develop and maintain supplier networks locally and internationally with at least 3 offers for PMU review.
• Prepare project costing sheets and quantify equipment selections to meet deadlines.
• Support post-submission queries, meetings and technical presentations.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and drive process improvements.

For the management and preparation of high quality commercially competitive engineered proposals and tender responses for engineered power generation projects, together with providing assistance to develop supply chain, required for project execution.

Nature and Scope

This role is primarily responsible for preparation of engineering tender responses, provision of technical services and applications support to Business Development Managers within South East Asia, for customised products within Ingersoll Rand product portfolio.

The sole purpose for this role is to support power generation tenders, in addition to assisting the project team w.r.t engineering, minor project management task & inspection related activities as directed.

Tender analysis, preparation and support

• Where required, review tenders and other forms of RFQ and :
• Conduct Initial feasibility assessment of opportunity.
• Interpret technical project specifications; pre-award, followed with technical submissions post award, as an assistance to the execution team, listing any concerns related to scope etc.
• Develop & maintain a supplier network, local & international to assist with competitive pricing, with the option to travel as & when required.
• Supply chain management, to develop sufficient supplier options etc i.e. min 3 offers to assist with PMU review.
• Communicate with Sales when tender or RFQ submission dates cannot be met.
• Advise of any technical and commercial exceptions to specifications protect CAPS
• Formulate/optimise project costing sheets (PMU) & formal offers for review utilising OEM equipment; specifications, to meet project deadlines.
• Select appropriate equipment and customisations to meet the specifications and site conditions.
• Support sales with technical assistance in post submission TQs, meetings and presentations.
• Assist with project design, consultant/project correspondence to meet the project specifications

Support Activities for Projects – Power Generation, Coolers & others products required for Datacentre Industry

Where required, this role will provide support activities to the power generation project management team.

• Assist in engineering design for technical aspects of customisations and modifications to Product within my qualifications and level of experience, including:
• Component and Equipment selection
• Conducting competent electrical and/or mechanical design (where applicable)
• Provision of technical documentation and drawings
• Provision of quality plans, ITPs, test & commissioning procedures, project schedule and other miscellaneous documentation
• Work with Engineering Services in KL for cost efficient documentation generation and document control
• Communicate with OEMs to monitor delivery and configuration of equipment to ensure they meet the specification and customer’s requirement.

Product Validation

• To inspect, evaluate and test as necessary the engineering project related equipment, materials and works completed by OEM manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors and manufacturing / service departments to ensure it meets the project specified output performance, quality requirements and applicable Australian standards.

• Map and update key engineering processes into Promapp as part of our regular engineering activity.
