Job summary

Lianhetech Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Environmental Compliance professional to support the installation, commissioning, and ongoing regulatory handling of wastewater and pollution control systems on-site in Malaysia.

The role requires coordinating EMPs, reviews of SOPs, and maintaining compliance platforms. The candidate will liaise with third-party inspectors and government bodies, ensure DOE-aligned reporting, and manage monitoring across water, air, and noise parameters, while handling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• CePIETS-PCP, CePIETS-BP, CePSO, or CePSWAM certifications.
• At least 3 years of work experience in environmental compliance management within the chemical industry.
• Positive, detail-oriented, high integrity and able to handle work pressure; confidentiality is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation and commissioning of wastewater/polluted gas/schedule waste treatment facilities and equipment.
• Review Environmental Management Plan (EMP), pollution prevention and mitigation measures (P2M2) and relevant SOPs.
• Maintain environmental compliance platforms, such as the eSWIS/OER system.
• Assist third‑party inspection units and government inspectors during on‑site inspections, and liaise during DOE inspections, audits, and field visits.
• Responsible for Written Notification (WN) & Written Declaration (WD) work.
• Ensure full compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974, EIA approval conditions, and DOE requirements; support site-wide regulatory compliance.
• Implement and monitor EMP and pollution prevention measures.
• Submit environmental reports and statutory documents to the DOE (monthly/quarterly reports, EMP compliance, incident/violation reports).
• Coordinate and oversee environmental monitoring activities (wastewater quality, ambient air, noise, groundwater).
• Coordinate third‑party suppliers (Schedule Waste disposal testing companies).
• Maintain environmental permits, approvals, monitoring records and documents for DOE audits.

Job description

Operations Phase (Environmental Protect Operation)

• Ensure full compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974, EIA approval conditions, and DOE requirements. Support the Environmental Manager in ensuring site‑wide environmental regulatory compliance.
• Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and pollution prevention and mitigation measures.
• Collect and consolidate relevant compliance documents, and submit environmental reports and statutory documents to the DOE. These include: monthly/quarterly monitoring reports, EMP compliance reports, environmental incident and violation reports, as well as related documentation and compliance submissions such as CePSWAM/CePIETSO/CePSTPO/CePSO required by the competent authority.
• Assist third‑party inspection units and government inspectors during on‑site inspections, and serve as the on‑site liaison during DOE inspections, audits, and field visits.
• Coordination and management of third‑party suppliers (Schedule Waste disposal companies, testing companies).
• In accordance with regulatory requirements, maintain environmental permits, approvals, monitoring records and all management documents in an up‑to‑date and well‑preserved condition. Ensure all environmental records are readily available for DOE audits and inspections.
• Coordinate and oversee environmental monitoring activities, Conduct monitoring activities as required by regulations, encompassing wastewater quality, ambient air quality, noise, and groundwater.
• Coordinate and facilitate on‑site monitoring activities conducted by the Department of Environment and accredited third‑party testing agencies.
• Review monitoring data and identify trends, non‑compliances, or risks for reporting to the Environmental Manager.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Qualification Requirements: CePIETS-PCP or CePIETS-BP or CePSO or CePSWAM, Priority will be given to candidates who meet two or three of the qualifications.
• At least 3 years of work experience in environmental compliance management within the chemical industry.
• Must possess at least one of the following certifications: CePIETS-PCP, CePIETS-BP, CePSO, or CePSWAM.
• Positive, detail‑oriented, high integrity and able to handle work pressure; strict on confidentiality.
