Job summary

Hydro Metal (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an HSE professional to oversee safety, health and environmental compliance within a manufacturing setting in Malaysia. You will liaise with DOE, DOSH and BOMBA, monitor wastewater treatment, ensure water quality before discharge, and drive continuous improvement in process safety and environmental performance.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing or schedule waste, with CePIETSO certification preferred and ISO 9001/45001/14001 experience.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-3 years experience, preferably in Manufacturing and Schedule Waste Industry.
• Experience handling safety & health or Green Book holder is an advantage.
• Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• liaise with DOE/DOSH/BOMBA for licensing and compliance issues.
• Monitor wastewater treatment plant final discharge water to meet DOE standards.
• Ensure daily water treatment quality before discharge.
• Respond to and conduct industrial effluent treatment process control and monitoring with improvements.
• Conduct periodic checks and routine inspections of treatment processes per system recommendations.
• Ensure all piping, connectors, pumps and motors are well maintained.
• Prepare monthly performance monitoring reports as DOE requires.
• Take responsibility for safety & health compliance and documentation.
• Lead safety investigations and audits including ISO 9001/45001/14001.

Education

Minimum Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management/Environment/Engineering or equivalent

CePIETSO(PCP) Certificate (Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System)

• To liaise with DOE/DOSH/BOMBA for licensing and compliance issue.

• To ensure daily water treatment quality before discharge
• To respond and conduct industrial effluent treatment process control and monitoring effectively and efficiently and suggest any improvement.
• To conduct periodic check and routine inspection to treatment processes according to the system recommendation and checklist.
• Ensure the work is performed in accordance with the specifications and approved procedures.
• Prepare monthly performance monitoring report as DOE required.
• To ensure all the piping, connector, pump and motor are well maintained

Safety & Health

• Responsible on all safety & health, environmental acts and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain all safety & health related documentation & liaise with Government related authorities and agencies (OHSAS 18001).
• Provide and record PPE, lead toolbox meeting on regular basis, ensure all employees are in compliance with safety & health regulations.
• Responsible for any accident investigation, report, and submission of report to DOSH.
• Full responsibility for preparation for HSE audits, and all other audits including ISO 9001, ISO 45001& ISO 14001.
• Support the implementation of the safety and wellness strategic plan in areas of responsibility (inclusive of plant and equipment and chemicals within manufacturing site and maintaining a safe working environment across entire site)
• Contribute to the identification of risk factors and the analysis and prioritization of safety and wellness risks.
• Lead or facilitate the investigation of workplace incidents.

EDUCATION/BACKGROUND

• Minimum Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management/Environment/Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1-3 years experience especially in Manufacturing industry & Schedule Waste Industry
• Must fully competent for CePIETSO(PCP) Certificate (Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Physical Chemical Process)
• Experience handling safety & health or Green Book holder will be an advantage
• Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 45001& ISO 14001
