Job summary

Sem Matic Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an Environmental Assistant Engineer (Competent Person IETS & APCS) to implement, monitor, and ensure environmental control systems compliant with DOE, EQA 1974, ISO standards and CSR.

You will train operators, prepare weekly and monthly reports, support audits, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives while maintaining SOPs and responding to environmental incidents.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Environmental Engineering or related fields.
• 3–5 years related experience in environmental field.
• Familiar with DOE requirements and the Environmental Quality Act (EQA 1974).
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and environmental aspect-impact managements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain environmental control systems according to DOE/EQA standards.
• Perform daily to yearly environmental monitoring and keep records.
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and yearly reports to DOE.
• Develop, review and update SOPs and necessary records or forms.
• Assist in environmental audits, inspections and corrective actions.
• Train operators/technicians on operation and maintenance of environmental control systems.
• Assist in emergency response for environmental incidents.
• Contribute to cost-saving and process improvement projects.

Environmental Assistant Engineer (Competent Person IETS & APCS)

As competent person for Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) and Air Pollution Control System (APCS).

Implement, monitoring and ensure environmental control systems in compliance with DOE, EQA 1974, related regulations, International Standards (ISO) and Customer Specific Request (CSR).

Operate and maintain environmental control system in engineering practice.

Conduct and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly environmental monitoring and record keeping.

Organize , prepare and submit weekly, monthly and yearly environmental reports to DOE or others as regulations required.

Develop, review and update SOPs , necessary record or form or any engineering professional advice for environmental control system.

Support in environmental audits, inspections and corrective actions.

Train operators/technician on item related to operate and maintain environmental control system.

Assist in emergency response for environmental control system incidents.

Assist project of cost saving and effectiveness process improvement for environmental control system.

Any other tasks assigned / given by superior.

Requirements

Diploma, Degree, or professional certificate in Environmental Engineering or related fields.

Preferably certified as Competent Person in CePIETSO-PCP and BP, CePSO, and/or CePBFO.

Minimum 3-5 years related experiences in environmental field

Familiar with DOE requirements and the Environmental Quality Act (EQA 1974).

Knowledge in ISO 14001 and environmental aspect-impact managements

Proficient in Open/Microsoft office system
