Job summary

Pivotal Systems – Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, Malaysia, is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineering leader to drive CNC machining excellence. You will collaborate across Production, Quality, Maintenance, CNC programming, Tooling, and Supply Chain to ensure processes meet quality, delivery, and productivity targets.

The role requires strong knowledge of CNC machining, CAD/CAM, GD&T, and process validation, with a track record in Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement to reduce cycle time and

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline is required.

Pivotal Systems – Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah

Lead manufacturing engineering excellence by collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, CNC Programming, Tooling, and Supply Chain teams to ensure machining processes consistently meet customer quality, delivery, and productivity requirements.

Lead CNC manufacturing process development, machining optimization, fixture design, tooling selection, process validation, and equipment improvement while ensuring compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications, and safety regulations.

Provide technical leadership for CNC machining operations, including milling, turning, multi-axis machining, and automation. Develop technology roadmaps to improve machining capability, reduce cycle time, increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and lower manufacturing costs.

Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, reduce waste, improve first-pass yield, and maximize equipment utilization.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.

Ensure preventive maintenance strategies, machine capability studies, process capability (Cp/Cpk), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) are effectively implemented to maintain stable production processes.

Develop, mentor, and coach the Manufacturing Engineering team while fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

Work closely with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to introduce new machining technologies, tooling solutions, and automation that improve manufacturing competitiveness.

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing engineering experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience in a CNC or precision machining manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, CAD/CAM, CNC programming, GD&T, tooling, fixtures, process validation, and manufacturing quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO 9001/IATF 16949 (or equivalent), SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical expertise, and relevant manufacturing experience will also be considered.
