Job summary

Ice-Man Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Engineering Executive to join our factory engineering and operations team. The role covers maintenance, automation, factory operations and continuous improvement with a strong focus on production efficiency and equipment reliability.

You will support daily operations, collaborate with production, maintenance and automation teams, and drive improvements in OEE, energy use and cost effectiveness through preventive maintenance and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Practical knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, maintenance or factory operations preferred.
• Fresh graduates may be considered.
• Knowledge of PLC, sensors, motors, VFDs and industrial control systems preferred.
• Experience with refrigeration, compressors, cold rooms or food manufacturing an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Hands-on and comfortable working in a factory environment.
• Able to analyse problems systematically and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Support daily factory operations to ensure production runs safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with production, maintenance and automation teams.
• Monitor and improve production output, equipment downtime, manpower productivity, wastage, energy consumption and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programmes
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and automation-related equipment problems
• Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring breakdowns and production issues and implement corrective actions
• Support automation projects involving PLCs, sensors, VFDs, motors, control systems and production machinery
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve productivity through automation and process improvement
• Support maintenance of compressors, pumps, conveyors, packaging machines, refrigeration systems and other factory equipment
• Assist with maintenance planning, critical spare parts and equipment upgrades
• Coordinate with machinery suppliers, contractors and engineering vendors
• Support machinery installation, commissioning and modification projects
• Develop and improve SOPs, maintenance standards and production processes

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, maintenance or factory operations will be an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical and practical ability may also be considered.
• Practical knowledge of industrial machinery and maintenance.
• Knowledge of PLC, sensors, motors, VFDs and industrial control systems is preferred.
• Experience with refrigeration, compressors, cold rooms or food manufacturing will be an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Hands-on and comfortable working in a factory environment.
• Able to work effectively with production staff, technicians, suppliers and contractors.
• Able to analyse problems systematically and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
