Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia is seeking aMaintenance Engineer to ensure reliability and performance of machining equipment and related systems. The role leads preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and drives improvements to minimize downtime and improve OEE.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3–7 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings, with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Typically 3–7 years of experience in equipment maintenance, manufacturing engineering, or industrial maintenance.
• Experience supporting CNC machines, automation, or high-volume manufacturing equipment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC/control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and equipment drawings.
• Experience working with equipment suppliers and external service providers.
• Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to support shift operations, breakdown response, or off-hours support when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for machining equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
• Support CNC machines, machining centers, automated equipment, and related production systems.
• Analyze equipment breakdowns and identify root causes using appropriate problem-solving tools.
• Develop and implement actions to reduce recurring equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance, downtime, maintenance history, and maintenance KPIs.
• Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize production disruption.
• Manage spare parts, maintenance materials, and critical equipment components.
• Work with equipment suppliers and contractors for troubleshooting, repair, servicing, and technical support.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and modification activities.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and applicable standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, and technical reports.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvement, automation, and reliability enhancement.
• Support development and implementation of maintenance standards, checklists, and work instructions.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to maintenance technicians.
