Job summary

Mondelez International in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing site in Penang. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment to ensure consistent output.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, ability to read schematics, and support for continuous improvement projects within FMCG environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PW2/PW4 competency certificate.
• Chargeman AO/A1/A4 certificate is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot faults in electrical, PLC, VFD, HMI, and control systems.
• Install, service, and repair electrical equipment and wiring.
• Inspect panels, motors, sensors, safety devices, and circuits.
• Support production in reducing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations.
• Participate in upgrades and continuous improvement.
• Maintain maintenance records and electrical documentation.
• Attend GMP, HACCP, HALAL, and Safety trainings.
• Adhere to food quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Engage in IL6S, TPM, and lean manufacturing activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, PLC, VFD, HMI, and control system faults.
• Carry out installation, servicing, and repair of electrical equipment and wiring systems.
• Inspect electrical panels, motors, sensors, safety devices, and control circuits to ensure proper operation.
• Support production team in resolving machine downtime issues.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company procedures.
• Participate in equipment upgrades, modification projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports, and electrical documentation.
• Attend mandatory trainings including GMP, HACCP, HALAL, and Safety.
• Comply with food quality, food safety, and environmental requirements.
• Participate in IL6S, TPM, and lean manufacturing activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Possess PW2/PW4 competency certificate.
• Chargeman AO/A1/A4 certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in motors, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial control systems.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of automation systems and instrumentation is an advantage.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willing to work in shifts and support emergency breakdown maintenance.
• Experience in snack, food, or FMCG manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with GMP, HACCP, HALAL, Food Safety, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) requirements.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machines, ovens, mixers, extruders, and process equipment will be an added advantage.
