Job summary

Symphony Confection Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Maintenance & Production Technician to support our SME food manufacturing facility. You will maintain, troubleshoot and service machinery, equipment and facility systems while occasionally assisting Production and Packing operations when no maintenance tasks are required.

The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, prompt breakdown response, and keeping maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in a relevant technical field is preferred.
• Experience in machinery maintenance is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Monitor machinery condition and identify potential issues before breakdowns occur.
• Assist with machine setup, adjustment, installation and testing as required.
• Keep records of maintenance, repairs, servicing and machine condition.
• Monitor spare parts and maintenance supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
• Coordinate with external technicians or suppliers for specialised repairs.
• Suggest practical improvements to machinery and production processes.
• Support basic facility maintenance within the factory when required.

We are looking for a hands-on and adaptable Maintenance & Production Technician to support the smooth operation of our food manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain, troubleshoot and support the Company's machinery, equipment and facility-related technical matters. As we operate in an SME manufacturing environment, technical maintenance may not be required throughout the entire working day. When there are no maintenance, repair or technical tasks requiring attention, the employee will be expected to support Production and Packing operations as part of the daily operational team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of production machinery and equipment
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and technical issues to minimise production downtime
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to the Company's maintenance schedule
• Monitor machinery condition and identify potential issues before breakdowns occur
• Assist with machine setup, adjustment, installation and testing when required
• Maintain proper records of maintenance, repairs, servicing and machine condition
• Monitor basic spare parts, tools and maintenance supplies and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required
• Liaise with external technicians, contractors or machine suppliers when specialised repair or servicing is required
• Assist in identifying practical improvements to machinery, equipment and production processes
• Support basic facility maintenance and other technical matters within the factory where required

About you

• Certificate / SKM / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Maintenance or a related technical field is preferred
• Previous experience in machinery maintenance, manufacturing or a similar technical role is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting
• Able to perform hands-on repair and maintenance work
• Willing to work in a multi-functional SME manufacturing environment and assist Production / Packing operations when technical support is not required
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently
• Good teamwork and willingness to support other departments when required
• Experience in food manufacturing is an added advantage
