Job summary

BSD Associates Sdn Bhd invites early-career engineers to join as a hands-on building services designer. You will work under a Senior Mentor, gaining design ownership on HT/LV systems, lighting, and ELV while supporting project life-cycles from inception to close-out.

From day one you’ll lead client interactions, collaborate with interior architects and structural engineers, and progress toward chartership with strong support for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by the local engineering board.
• 2 to 5 years of working experience strictly within an M&E engineering consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical calculation software. Experience with Dialux, BIM / Revit is a highly advantageous plus.
• Strong familiarity with local uniform building by-laws, electrical codes, and authority submission procedures.
• A proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills to manage client relationships confidently.

Responsibilities

• Design Ownership: Create complete electrical engineering designs for building services, including HT/LV power distribution, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV systems.
• Calculations & Documentation: Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop analyses, and short-circuit calculations using industry-standard software.
• Authority Submissions: Prepare and manage technical drawings, specifications, and submission documents for local authorities and utility providers (e.g., TNB, Bomba, Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
• Project Coordination: Attend client-consultant meetings and coordinate with internal mechanical teams, external architects, and structural engineers.
• Site Supervision: Conduct periodic site inspections, attend technical meetings, and oversee testing and commissioning phases to ensure design compliance.
