Job summary

NORTH CONSULT ENGINEERING Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and oversee mechanical system projects in KL. The role requires hands-on engineering design, calculations, and coordination with cross-functional teams to meet project specifications.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, a formal degree in ME, and ideally PE registration (Ir.) with BEM or progress toward it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
• 8+ years of working experience in related field, preferably from consulting background.
• Professional Engineer (Ir.) registration with BEM or progress towards this certification is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in mechanical engineering design, development, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering solutions in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, feasibility studies, and assessments to determine project needs.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations, analysis, and simulations to ensure project efficiency and compliance.
• Work closely with other departments for technical drawings preparation, plans, and documentation using engineering software and tools.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of engineering systems and components.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and safety regulations.

• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD).

• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, standards, codes and regulations (e.g., MS, UBBL, NFPA, ASHRAE).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Possesses own transportation and able to travel when needed.

• Good organisation, communication and time management skills. Able to manage several projects and follow up professionally.

• Experience in power infrastructure, solar PV, BESS or renewable energy projects is an advantage.
