The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, review, and implementation of electrical engineering solutions for projects. The role involves managing electrical systems design, ensuring compliance with industry standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting project execution, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Design & Engineering
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for projects.
- Prepare and review electrical calculations, specifications, drawings, and engineering documents.
- Design and validate:
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Low-voltage and medium-voltage systems
- Emergency and backup power systems
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Project Execution
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with project teams and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and resolve technical issues.
- Support procurement activities, technical bid evaluations, and vendor assessments.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and system testing activities.
Design Management & Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, and other disciplines.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and submissions.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and maintained.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Review work produced by team members to ensure quality and compliance.
- Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement
- Support knowledge sharing and staff development.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company quality management systems.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Identify and mitigate technical and project risks.
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory approvals
- Ensure electrical designs, equipment, and systems comply with applicable UL, CE, IEC, IEEE, NEC, and local regulatory standards.
- Review vendor submissions and product certifications for compliance with UL and CE requirements.
- Support certification, testing, inspection, and regulatory approval processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and testing bodies to achieve product and system compliance.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- 5 to 8 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Proven experience in engineering design and project execution.
- Experience in industrial plants, buildings, infrastructure, semiconductor facilities, data centres, or manufacturing facilities is advantageous.
- Experience leading engineering teams and managing stakeholders
- Electrical power system design.
- Load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies.
- Electrical design software (Eplan & Autocad Electrical).
- AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or other design platforms.
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, BS, MS, and local authority requirements.
- Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
