Job summary

Minconsult Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a degree-qualified electrical engineer to lead multidisciplinary building services projects from feasibility to handover. You will guide a team under supervision and deliver design, tender, and contract administration tasks.

The role requires 5+ years in consultancy, BEM Graduate Engineer registration, and the ability to manage HT/LV/ELV, telecoms, and infrastructure reticulation with minimal guidance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by BEM.
• Registered with BEM as a Graduate Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant consultancy experience.
• Experience leading small-to-medium multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary projects from design through completion with minimal guidance.
• Prepare feasibility studies, design briefs, and sizing for substation and electrical rooms.
• Prepare tender documents, evaluation reports, and contract administration.
• Carry out site supervision and coordinate with internal/external design teams.
• Liaise with authorities for submissions and approvals; manage variations.

Handle typical and small to medium-sized projects comprising Electrical Building Services (HT, LV & ELV ), Telecommunication services, and all infrastructure ( HT & LV reticulation ) related work as assigned by the GM of the Division with guidance by superior

Lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking multi-disciplinary small to medium-sized projects with guidance from superior

Perform all necessary duties from the preliminary/conceptual design stage until project completion as listed in the following sections with guidance by superior

Assist superior on bigger-sized projects

2. Design and Drawing Preparation

Prepare feasibility study, design brief, schematic design, and substation room and electrical room sizing

Prepare sketch drawings with sufficient details to enable draftsperson to produce satisfactory detailed drawings as required for tender, construction, or other purposes;

Undertake electrical and telecommunication services detailed design and prepare specifications, bill of quantities, and schedules

Prepare design calculations in accordance with all relevant codes and standards

3. Tender Document and Tender Evaluation

Prepare Tender Document comprising specifications, bill of quantities and schedules, etc

Prepare Tender Evaluation Report with a recommendation to the Client on acceptance of tender

4. Contract Administration

Contract administration including review and comment on the contractor’s submission of method statements, materials, equipment, inspection, testing procedures, and test results.

Prepare Progress Payment Certificates

Address Variations and resolve contractual disputes with guidance from superior

5. Others

Attend meetings and coordinate with all other internal and external design team members

Liaise with relevant Authorities for submission and approval of all drawings and documents

Carry out site supervision as necessary to ensure works are installed in accordance with contract documentation and good engineering practice

Involve in the company’s activities including corporate social responsibility activities.

Carry out all tasks related to Minconsult’s operation as directed

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM)

Registered with BEM as a Graduate Engineer

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment

Able to handle typical and small to medium sized projects comprising Electrical Building Services (HT, LV & ELV ), Telecommunication services and all infrastructure ( HT & LV reticulation ) related work with minimal guidance

Able to lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking small to medium sized multi-disciplinary projects with minimal guidance

Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet timelines.
