Job summary

QUADRANT TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. seeks a qualified electrical technician to operate, monitor and maintain the factory's electrical installations in compliance with safety regulations.

You will perform switching, isolation and shutdown procedures, conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoot faults to ensure safe, reliable operation. You will monitor energy use, support efficiency projects, and coordinate with contractors and internal teams for inspections and repairs.

Qualifications

• Valid Chargeman A0 Competency Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) or equivalent recognised by ST.
• Experience in manufacturing, factory or industrial environments preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance, troubleshooting and safety practices.
• Able to interpret Electrical Single-Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical drawings.
• Familiar with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), switching and isolation procedures.

Job description

Operate, monitor and maintain the factory's electrical installations and equipment in accordance with electrical safety requirements and applicable regulations.

Carry out switching operations, electrical isolation and shutdown procedures safely and in accordance with approved procedures

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of electrical installations and equipment

Monitor and operate electrical installations, including MDB, SMDB, MCC, DB, transformers and other related electrical equipment

Identify, troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation

Monitor electrical consumption and support initiatives to improve energy efficiency and electrical system performance

Ensure electrical installations comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, applicable legislation, electrical safety standards and company procedures

Maintain proper electrical logbooks, inspection records, maintenance records and repair documentation

Coordinate with electrical contractors, competent persons, vendors and external service providers for electrical maintenance, inspection, testing and repair works

Respond to electrical breakdowns, emergencies and unplanned shutdowns and implement appropriate emergency response and isolation procedures to minimize safety risks and production downtime

Support factory maintenance activities and perform other duties as assigned by management

About you

Possess a valid Chargeman A0 Competency Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) or other relevant electrical competency certification recognized by ST

Preferably with working experience in a manufacturing, factory or industrial environment

Good knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance, troubleshooting and electrical safety practices

Familiar with electrical Single-Line Diagrams (SLD) and able to interpret electrical drawings

Good knowledge of electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), switching and isolation procedures

Able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a responsible and proactive approach to electrical safety and maintenance

Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to coordinate with contractors, vendors and internal departments

Willing to support maintenance work according to operational requirements and respond to electrical emergencies
