Job summary

Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced Electrical Chargeman to oversee safe operation and maintenance of electrical installations in our facilities.

You will supervise on-site activities, enforce electrical safety, and coordinate with engineers and maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime. We require a Diploma or INSTEP certification, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and a valid Chargeman CoC.

Qualifications

• Diploma in science/engineering/technology or INSTEP certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Holding valid Chargeman B0 CoC issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Registered as a competent person under the Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Operate electrical installations safely as per CoC competency.
• Experience with HV switchgear, MCCB, ACB, and motors.
• Perform isolation, switching, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Apply electrical safety practices and first aid.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Good communication with engineers and operators.
• Teamwork and site coordination; safety awareness in oil & gas.
• Familiar with Tools Box Session and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation, maintenance, and supervision of electrical installations in plants, buildings, or facilities.
• Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, and distribution networks.
• Monitor system performance, maintain records, and respond promptly to faults or emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Supervise contractors and technicians, issue or control PTW and EIC where applicable, and enforce safe work practices on site.
• Identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives for electrical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams; ensure electrical safety accountability.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe operation,maintenance, and supervision ofelectrical installations in plants,buildings, or facilities. The roleinvolves carrying out preventive,corrective, and breakdownmaintenance on electrical systems,including switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, and distribution networks. perform troubleshooting, isolation and switching activities,conducts inspections, and ensuresall equipment is functioningefficiently. In addition, they arerequired to monitor systemperformance, maintain accurate records, and respond promptly to faults or emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Beyond technical duties, theElectrical Chargeman plays a keyrole in safety and compliance,ensuring that all electrical work adheres to statutory regulationsand industry standards. Supervise contractors and technicians, issueor control Permit to Work (PTW)and Electrical Isolation Certificate(EIC) where applicable and enforcesafe work practices on site. The chargeman is also responsible foridentifying hazards, implementingcorrective actions, and supportingcontinuous improvement initiativesfor electrical systems. Strongcommunication, coordination, and problem - solving skills are essential,as the position often requirescollaboration with engineers,operators, and maintenance teams while maintaining overallaccountability for electrical safety within the installation.

Requirement

• Diploma in science/engineering/technology OR Certificate from INSTEP
• Possess minimum 5 years of experience in supervisoryrole
• Hold a valid Chargeman B0Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST)
