Job summary

Elsa Talent Solutions Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Chargeman to oversee safe operation, maintenance and supervision of electrical installations in plants and facilities.

The role requires 5+ years supervisory experience, a valid B4 CoC, and registration as a competent person under Electricity Regulations 1994; you will lead technicians and contractors, perform PTW and EIC, and drive safety and continuous improvement in electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma in science/engineering/technology OR Certificate from INSTEP.
• Possess minimum 5 years of experience in supervisory role.
• Hold a valid Chargeman B4 Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Be registered as a competent person under the Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Operate and control electrical installations safely as per COC competency.
• Understand equipment such as HV switchgear, MCCB, ACB, motors, HV Generator and synchronization to grid operation.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation, maintenance and supervision of electrical installations in plants, buildings, or facilities.
• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, generators, motors and distribution networks.
• Troubleshoot, isolation and switching, conduct inspections and monitor performance to minimize downtime.
• Supervise contractors and technicians; issue PTW and EIC where applicable; enforce safe work practices on site.
• Identify hazards, implement corrective actions and support continuous improvement of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, operators and maintenance teams while maintaining accountability for electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe operation,maintenance, and supervision of electrical installations in plants,buildings, or facilities. The roleinvolves carrying out preventive,corrective, and breakdownmaintenance on electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, generators,motors, and distribution networks.
• Performs troubleshooting, isolationand switching activities, conductsinspections, and ensures allequipment is functioning efficiently. In addition, they are required to monitor system performance,maintain accurate records, andrespond promptly to faults oremergencies to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Beyond technical duties, theElectrical Chargeman plays a keyrole in safety and compliance,ensuring that all electrical work adheres to statutory regulations andindustry standards. Supervisecontractors and technicians, issue or control Permit to Work (PTW) andElectrical Isolation Certificate (EIC) where applicable and enforce safework practices on site. Thechargeman is also responsible foridentifying hazards, implementingcorrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for electrical systems. Strongcommunication, coordination, andproblem - solving skills are essential,as the position often requirescollaboration with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams while maintaining overallaccountability for electrical safetywithin the installation.
