Job summary

Elsa Energy Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Chargeman to oversee the safe operation, maintenance and supervision of electrical installations across plants and facilities. The role includes preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on switchgear, transformers, motors, and distribution networks, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Applicants should have a Diploma or INSTEP certificate, at least 5 years of supervisory experience, and hold a valid Chargeman A0 CoC from ST,

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant science/engineering/technology field.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Hold a valid Chargeman A0 CoC from Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Be registered as a competent person under the Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Operate electrical installations safely according to COC competency.
• Knowledge of LV switchgear, MCCB, ACB motors.
• Ability to perform isolation, switching, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation, maintenance, and supervision of electrical installations in plants, buildings, or facilities.
• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems and monitor system performance.
• Supervise contractors and technicians; issue or control PTW and EIC; enforce safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe operation,maintenance, and supervision ofelectrical installations in plants,buildings, or facilities. The roleinvolves carrying out preventive,corrective & breakdown maintenance on electrical systems,including switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, and distribution networks. Perform troubleshooting, isolation and switching activities,conduct inspections, and ensuresall equipment is functioningefficiently. In addition, they arerequired to monitor systemperformance, maintain accurate records, and respond promptly to faults or emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Beyond technical duties, theElectrical Chargeman plays a keyrole in safety and compliance,ensuring that all electrical work adheres to statutory regulationsand industry standards. Supervise contractors and technicians, issueor control Permit to Work (PTW)and Electrical Isolation Certificate(EIC) where applicable and enforcesafe work practices on site. The chargeman is also responsible foridentifying hazards, implementingcorrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for electrical systems . Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills are essential,as the position often requires collaboration with engineers,operators, and maintenance teams while maintaining overallaccountability for electrical safety within the installation

Requirement

• Diploma in science/engineering/technology OR Certificate from INSTEP
• Possess minimum 5 years of experience in supervisoryrole
• Hold a valid Chargeman A0Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST)
• Be registered as a competentperson under the Electricity Regulations 1994
• Well versed in operate and controlelectrical installations safelyas per COC competency
