Job summary

Our Client in Prai, Penang is seeking a hands-on Distribution Planning Analyst to join our operations team. You will execute daily order and shipment activities, coordinate with planners, warehouse teams, shipping and QA to ensure accurate processing and on-time delivery; this role blends on-the-ground practice with practical planning tasks.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related fields and 1–2 years in logistics, order management or inventory control; familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as supply chain, logistics, operations, or business administration.
• 1–2 years of working experience in supply chain, logistics, distribution, order management, warehouse operations, or inventory control.
• Basic understanding of order processing, inventory, warehouse and shipment processes.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is advantageous.
• Strong MS Excel skills and data accuracy focus.

Responsibilities

• Create and process Sales Orders and SOC requests based on approved workflows.
• Check ATS, PO/IR and ERP inventory status to ensure accurate order processing and avoid discrepancies.
• Release pick slips and coordinate with warehouse/store teams for shipments.
• Collaborate with planners and warehouse staff to ensure urgent orders are shipped on time.
• Process Sales Order cancellations and reversals when required.
• Monitor shipment status and prepare daily staging/shipment reports for stakeholders.
• Resolve outstanding shipments, QA blocks and other operational issues promptly.
• Liaise with warehouse/store supervisors and QA to clear issues affecting overdue shipments.
• Support quarter-end shipment activities and PI counts.
• Assist with other distribution and supply chain activities as needed.

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on and proactive Distribution Planning Analyst to join our client's team in Prai, Penang. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to build practical experience in supply chain, distribution and warehouse operations. In this role, you will be involved in the day-to-day execution of orders and shipments, working closely with planners, warehouse/store teams, shipping, QA and other internal stakeholders to ensure shipments are processed accurately and delivered on time. This is not a purely desk-based planning role. You will have the opportunity to work closely with teams on the ground, understand the end-to-end distribution process and help resolve operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and process Sales Orders and Sales Order Creation (SOC) requests based on approved workflows
• Check ATS, PO/IR and ERP inventory status to ensure accurate order processing and avoid data discrepancies
• Release pick slips and coordinate with warehouse/store teams to support shipment requirements
• Work closely with planners and warehouse personnel to ensure urgent orders are prepared and shipped on time
• Process Sales Order cancellations and reversals when required
• Monitor shipment status and prepare daily staging/shipment reports for relevant stakeholders
• Follow up on outstanding shipments, QA blocks and other operational issues to ensure timely resolution
• Liaise with warehouse/store supervisors and QA personnel to clear issues affecting overdue shipments
• Support quarter-end shipment activities and physical inventory/PI count activities
• Assist with other distribution and supply chain operational activities as required

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related discipline
• 1-2 years of working experience in supply chain, logistics, distribution, order management, warehouse operations, inventory control or a related field
• Basic understanding of order processing, inventory, warehouse and shipment processes
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP or similar systems will be an advantage
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data, orders and system transactions
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Able to manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
