Data Center Business Development Manager — Malaysia Sales

Job summary

ENGDC SDN. BHD. is seeking a proactive Business Development professional to develop data center client accounts in Malaysia, conduct client visits, and promote data center infrastructure operation & maintenance services.

You will identify client needs, manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closing, travel to visit customers, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions. Fluent English is mandatory; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (mandatory for daily work).
• Education: Business-related background preferred, other backgrounds acceptable. Sales competency prioritized.
• Preferred experience in data center, electromechanical or building automation sectors, familiar with local IDC customers.
• Capable of client development and business negotiation, able to visit clients independently.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of market analysis and business development strategies.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for customer development, client visits and business liaison for data center clients in Malaysia.
• Promote sales of data center infrastructure operation & maintenance as well as electromechanical maintenance services.
• Identify client demands for O&M and equipment upkeep; follow up pre-procurement processes, including negotiation and proposals.
• Maintain relationships with existing data center clients and explore repeat purchases and new projects.
• Achieve sales targets and keep records of client information and project progress.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
• Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets.
• Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, competitors and customer needs.
• Prepare business proposals, quotations, presentations, and negotiations.
• Manage full BD cycle from lead generation to contract closing.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth implementation of customer requirements.
• Attend customer meetings, networking events, exhibitions, and industry activities.
• Prepare regular reports on sales pipeline, business opportunities, and market development.
• Achieve assigned KPIs and BD targets.
• Perform ad hoc duties from superior as needed.
