Job summary

IAS FREIGHT SYSTEMS (M) SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated customs declarations assistant to manage import and export shipments for sea freight. You will prepare and submit declarations via EDI, compile documents, and coordinate with customers, operations, and government agencies to ensure timely clearance.

The role requires familiarity with Form K1–K9 and FOSIM/OGA processes, and the ability to check HS codes and obtain necessary permits through Dagang Net.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in handling import/export customs declarations is preferred.
• Familiarity with EDI submissions and Malaysian customs processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs declarations for import and export shipments via EDI system.
• Familiar with Form K1, K2, K3, K8, K9.
• Submit manifests through the appropriate system in compliance with customs requirements.
• Handle FOSIM and other OGA clearance processes through designated platforms.
• Prepare complete and accurate documentation for customs clearance of import and export shipments.
• Prepare and follow up on customer appointment letters for submission of Perlantikan Ejen to customs.
• Assist customers in checking HS code classifications using the tariff finder system upon request.
• Apply for permits via the Dagang Net system.
• Support the team by delegating daily tasks and ensuring submission of customs documents in a timely manner.
• Coordinate closely with the Operations team to monitor declaration status and ensure all tasks are completed before deadlines.

Job description

Responsible for handling import and export customs declarations for sea freight shipments, including EDI submissions, customs documentation, permits, and OGA clearance. The role coordinates closely with customers, Operations, shipping lines, and relevant government agencies to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance in compliance with Malaysian customs requirements. The position also supports daily team coordination and follows up on shipment and declaration status to ensure all tasks are completed within the required deadlines.
