Job summary

Elite Team Logistics (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Customs Declaration Customer Service to join our freight forwarding team in Klang. You will handle daily declarations, prepare supporting documents, verify HS codes and coordinate with RMCD and shippers to ensure smooth cargo clearance.

The role requires 2–3 years of hands-on experience, strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and proficiency in MS Office.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Customs Declaration Customer Service to join our freight forwarding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customs declarations and clearance activities for import and export shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely submission and smooth cargo clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily customs declaration and clearance activities for import and export shipments.
• Prepare, submit and monitor customs declarations through the relevant customs declaration systems.
• Handle customs declaration forms including K1, K2, K3, K8, ZB1, ZB4 and ensure accurate submission based on shipment details and supporting documents.
• Prepare and check commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading (BL) and other supporting documents required for customs declaration.
• Verify HS codes, customs value, quantity, country of origin, duties and taxes before declaration submission.
• Handle customs duty and tax calculations and ensure the correct information is declared.
• Process and follow up on MITI permits, import/export permits and other relevant licences or approvals where required.
• Liaise with Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) regarding customs declarations, inspections, queries, approvals and cargo release.
• Monitor customs declaration status and follow up on pending approvals, inspections and release of shipments.
• Handle customs queries, declaration discrepancies, amendments and documentation issues.
• Coordinate with customers to obtain accurate shipment information and required documents for declaration.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, hauliers, terminals, warehouses and internal operations teams to ensure timely customs clearance.
• Monitor clearance deadlines and proactively follow up to avoid delays, storage, demurrage or other additional charges.
• Provide customers with regular updates regarding declaration status, customs requirements, inspection and cargo release.
• Maintain proper records of customs declarations and supporting documents.
• Ensure all declarations comply with Malaysian customs requirements and company SOP.
• Perform other customs clearance and customer service duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in Customs Declaration / Customs Clearance / Freight Forwarding.
• Must have practical experience preparing and submitting customs declarations.
• Strong working knowledge of Malaysian customs procedures for import and export shipments.
• Hands‑on experience with: K1, K2, K3, K8, ZB declarations
• HS Code classification

• MITI permits and other import/export permits
• Customs inspection and cargo release
• Familiar with commercial invoices, packing lists, BL and other customs supporting documents.
• Experienced in dealing with Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD).
• Experience coordinating with shipping lines, terminals, hauliers and customers.
• Good understanding of the complete customs clearance process from document preparation → declaration submission → customs approval/inspection → cargo release.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
• Detail‑oriented, organised and able to work under pressure.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in sea freight customs clearance will be an advantage.

Employment Type: Full-time

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 5:30PM

Location : Bandar Botanic, Klang, Selangor

Pay: From RM1,700.00 per month
