• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in records.

• Basic understanding of construction processes, QA and QC procedures.

About the role

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Construction Site Clerk to join our team in Penang. You will play a crucial administrative and clerical role in supporting the smooth operation of our construction projects. As a Construction Site Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and control procedures. This role is essential to the efficient management of our construction sites and contributes directly to the successful delivery of our projects.

Key responsibilities

Maintaining and organising all site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and quality assurance documentation

Recording and tracking materials received on site, including quantities, specifications and delivery dates

Preparing and processing site correspondence, including letters, memos and official communications

Assisting in the compilation of quality control reports and ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications

Monitoring and documenting site activities, including workforce attendance, equipment usage and safety records

Supporting the coordination of inspections and tests in accordance with quality assurance procedures

Maintaining accurate records of site meetings, minutes and action points

Assisting with the preparation of monthly reports and progress documentation for management review

Liaising with various stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers and site personnel to obtain necessary information and clarifications

Supporting administrative tasks related to quality control procedures and ensuring all documentation is properly filed and accessible

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Site Clerk, construction administrator or similar administrative role in the construction industry

Strong organisational and filing skills with the ability to manage multiple documents and records simultaneously

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with site teams

Basic understanding of construction processes, quality assurance and quality control procedures

Knowledge of relevant construction safety regulations and standards

Flexibility to work in outdoor site environments and adapt to varying weather conditions

Experience with construction documentation software or database systems is advantageous
