Job summary

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a QAQC Engineer responsible for implementing quality assurance and control standards across all construction activities to ensure safety, compliance and client satisfaction.

You will perform site inspections, develop QC plans, test materials, document findings, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain quality records while communicating with project teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies and building codes.
• Strong attention to detail to identify defects and non-conformities.
• Clear written and verbal reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections.
• Willingness to spend significant time on active construction sites.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software advantageous.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated QAQC Engineer to join Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd in Penang. This is a critical position that plays a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety and compliance of our construction projects. As QAQC Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance and quality control standards across all construction activities, directly contributing to the successful delivery of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients. This role is essential in upholding our commitment to excellence and regulatory compliance within the construction industry.

What you'll be doing

Conducting regular inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes and industry standards

Developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures tailored to each project's requirements

Testing and verifying materials, workmanship and construction methods to ensure they meet contractual and regulatory specifications

Documenting inspection findings, test results and non-conformances through detailed reports and records

Identifying defects, deviations and areas of non-compliance, and coordinating corrective actions with site management and contractors

Liaising with project managers, contractors, consultants and clients to communicate quality issues and progress updates

Maintaining comprehensive quality documentation, including test certificates, inspection checklists and photographic evidence

Preparing quality assurance reports and presentations for project stakeholders and management

What we're looking for

Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in quality assurance and quality control within construction projects

Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes,

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects, inconsistencies and areas of non-compliance

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional reports

Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections whilst maintaining high standards

Physical fitness and willingness to spend significant time on active construction sites

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software would be advantageous
